Burgundy, brown & beyond: fall’s color stories unwrapped
This season, colors are heating up! From fashion to interiors, certain shades are making their presence known—especially burgundy, chocolate brown, and warm gray. Each one brings its own vibe, and they’re all about cozy luxury.
Burgundy - bold and inviting
If you've been browsing through the latest fashion shows or magazines, you've probably noticed that burgundy is everywhere. Deep, warm and lush, it is a color that attracts attention yet feels very calming and comforting. In interiors, you can go two ways with burgundy: subtle or all the way. You can add accents with accessories - think Rosso Levanto marble or eye-catchers on your dining table or in your living room. Or, if you want to go bold, go all the way! Imagine an entire dining room in rich burgundy - it's powerful, dramatic and cozy at the same time! (I once painted my dining room floor-to-ceiling in this hue and loved the inviting warmth it brought.) But for now, I'm opting for some pretty accessories ;), who knows, maybe I'll get bolder again later.
Chocolate brown- de luxurious neutral color
Brown has been on the rise for a while, largely due to the seventies revival, which reintroduced this versatile shade. Whether as a base or an accent, chocolate brown works beautifully with earthy tones, whites, blacks, and creams. For a softer contrast, pair it with white or cream rather than black. Brown has endless versatility: in different textures, it transitions easily from warm and grounding to sophisticated and refined.
Warm gray, comeback with a soft touch
Gray is making a comeback in a whole new way. A staple from 20 years ago, it was once seen as cold—but today, it’s all about warmth and depth. With shades reminiscent of a cozy wool scarf, warm gray wraps around you in an elegant and timeless way. It’s understated yet majestic, making it perfect for a serene foundation that feels as luxurious as it does versatile.
Midimalisme
The interiors world has moved beyond strict minimalism and maximalism. It’s all about balance—think of a space that’s serene yet filled with character, textures, and layers that wow without overwhelming. This trend is flexible, letting you bring together warm wood, organic forms, stainless steel, concrete, and natural stone with imperfections that add personality.
This shift towards playful, relaxed interiors is also huge. People want their homes to reflect their personality, with little details that bring a smile. So add that quirky vase or a splash of color and let your space feel personal and fun!
The return of these colors also speaks to a broader trend—vintage’s growing appeal. With sustainability in mind, reusing, recycling, and repurposing have become popular choices. Investing in timeless, quality pieces makes sense both stylistically and sustainably. Swap items between rooms when you want a change; a bowl can go from the kitchen to the workspace or bathroom, making the old feel new again.I love it! My latest vintage find: this beautiful green onyx ashtray. Whimsical shape, beautiful color and different textures, it was love at first sight. Now I use it for pistachios but soon it will definitely move to the bathroom as a dish for my jewelry, or to the study for paper clips or....
